Welcome To Wirral

Wirral Archives Service - Workshops

After the reopening, Wirral Archives Service will introduce a series of Saturday morning workshops to be held once a month. These workshops will be on a variety of family and local history topics, illustrated wherever possible by documents drawn from Wirral Archives.

Topics currently in preparation are:

  • Introduction to Family History (i.e. going back to 1837) - Saturday 4th October 2008

  • Advanced Family History (i.e. going back beyond 1837) - Saturday 8th November 2008

  • Early Wirral (Prehistory, Romans, Saxons and Vikings - Saturday 6th December 2008
     

And in 2009:

  • Medieval Wirral (1066 - 1500)

  • Early Modern Wirral (1500 - 1800)

  • Modern Wirral (1800 - 2000)

  • Schools and Education

  • Poor Law and Hospitals

  • Churchyards and Cemeteries

  • Wirral at War (First and Second World Wars)

  • Maps and Plans

  • Title Deeds
