Wirral Archive Services - Services we provide

 

Wirral Archive Service offer a range of service:

 

  • Public search room where original records can be consulted during opening hours

  • Research advice for both new and experienced visitors

  • Computer access - please ask staff for further details

  • Copying service: photocopies, laser copies and photography options are available - please ask staff for details of charges

  • Research...`please see Enquiries Policy for further details

  • Group Visits can be catered for: contact the Archivist for information (see Contact Us)

  • School visits welcomed, with hands-on activities available.


Reprographics – Scale of Charges

Prices will be reviewed annually.

  • Photocopies

    50p per A4 copy
    70p per A3 copy
    £2 minimum for any photocopying to be posted
    Microfilm / microfiche copier – 50p per A4 copy

  • Printing Department

    Printing Department will produce laser or plan copies of larger items, e.g. ships’ plans.
    Starting prices for ships’ plans and other larger items
    Up to A3 = £5
    Up to 10 feet = £15
    Over 10 feet = £20

  • Additions:

    Handling charge of 20 per cent
    Postage and packing e.g. £6 for a cardboard tube
    Additional charge for plans intended for commercial purposes: £15

  • Williamson Art Gallery
    Williamson Art Gallery can produce digital quality copies of photographs, e.g. of Cammell Laird ships.

    A5 £8.25 (p&p 80p)
    A4 £10.85 (p&p £1.15)
    A3 £15.45 (p&p £2.45)
    A3+ £21.65 (p&p £2.45)

    (The charges given for postage and packing are for up to 5 copies)

 

Digital Cameras

Digital cameras may be used if the item to be photographed is out of copyright. We recommend that you use a digital camera if you would like copies from our newspapers, owing to their fragile condition.

Note: digital cameras and laptops are not to be plugged in on the Cheshire Lines premises for health and safety reasons.
