Welcome To Wirral

The team is made up of a number of officers who work in a variety of areas, which includes a Disability sports development officer, Chief swimming coach, School sport liaison officer, Sports development officer and Community sports development (youth inclusion).

Each officer will,

• Develop and promote coach and volunteer education and recruitment
• Identify funding opportunities for individuals, clubs and partnerships
• Work with national and regional governing bodies
• Provide opportunities for the local community to utilise leisure and school facilities
• Ensure all young people have access to sporting opportunities irrespective of their sporting abilities, gender, race or disability.
• Strategic planning of sports facilities
• Tackling social exclusion and promoting community safety

Promoting sporting opportunities for the local community is about collaboration and partnership, and examples of some of the partners we work with are Health links, governing bodies, Merseyside Sport Partnership, local communities and school sport partnerships.
