Welcome To Wirral

The Oval offers the most extensive range of sporting activities of any single facility on Wirral. Opened in 1974, the Oval was extensive refurbished in 2007-08 and now includes two linked swimming pools, one a 25-metre competition and leisure pool, the other a 12.5 metre learning pool. In addition to this, the multi-activity sports hall can accommodate sports from badminton to gymnastics to trampoline. There are squash courts, recently refurbished fitness suite and 8 brand new state-of-the-art small-side football pitches, as well as other outdoor facilities such as athletics stadium, tennis courts and grass pitches. The centre also has its own cafeteria and bar and plays host to many of Wirral and Merseyside's major sporting events such as the North West  Disabled Athletics Open and The Merseyside Youth Games.

Mon – Thurs 7.30 a.m. until 10.00 p.m.

Friday - 7.30am until 8.00pm

Saturday and Sunday 9.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m.
