Housing Strategy Statement
Wirral’s Housing Strategy Statement (2005-2010) was approved as, ‘fit for purpose’ by Government Office for the North West in 2005. The Strategy sets out key objectives and priorities for housing and related services. In addition, the strategy contains a clear action plan for achieving Wirral’s vision, “to create sustainable communities across the whole of the borough in which people choose to live and stay”.
Accomplishing our vision for Wirral will involve working with residents, social and private landlords and a range of other agencies and organisations, to achieve priorities in four key areas:
- Delivering urban renaissance
- Providing affordable homes to maintain balanced communities
- Delivering decent homes in thriving neighbourhoods
- Meeting the needs of communities and providing support for those who need it
