Wirral Housing Advice Service offers advice and assistance to anyone who lives in the borough of Wirral.

Housing advisors give free, confidential advice, advocacy, help and assistance in all housing matters.

We work closely with other Departments of the local authority and with other agencies from the Public, Voluntary and Private sectors to ensure that people are able to access the advice and assistance required to deal with the problems being experienced

Housing Advisors are able to offer advice and assistance with the following housing issues:

We also offer practical & informal help for those seeking alternative accommodation & can assist with or provide information on the following:

  • Applying for properties through Wirralhomes

  • Contact details for landlords registered on the Council’s Landlord Accreditation Scheme

Housing Advisors can also help with the following:

A Guide (to Housing Options for Young People)

A Guide (to Housing Options for Young People) leaflet has been produced by an enthusiastic team of professionals and young people from a wide range of services throughout the Wirral.

The reason for the leaflet is because it has been recognised by young people that there are a variety of people and services out there that can help you as young people but accessing them is a pain.

On the link, there is a wide variety of housing providers and a list of different agencies displayed in a friendly way, which isn't confusing...hopefully...and we trust that it will help you to sort out any problems that you may have or help you find housing easier.

Tenancy Deposit Scheme

This project has been set up to assist in the prevention of homelessness and to help those seeking accommodation in the private sector who cannot afford a deposit.

This is achieved by providing a ‘Bond’ to accredited private landlords, the bond being a non-cash deposit.

Tenancy deposit applications are dealt with through the Housing Advice Service and applicants must meet criteria as set out by Wirral MBC.

Further information about this scheme can be provided on request. Contact the housing advice section
