Environmental Management
The Technical Services and Finance Departments of Wirral Council have recently implemented Environmental Management Systems that have been certified to the international standard ISO14001.
We have looked at all of the Departments activities and services and have identified their significant environmental aspects as:
- Energy and water consumption
- Use of transport (commuting and operational use)
- Waste generation and disposal
- Procurement and resource consumption
The Departments recognise that through the provision of their services there will be an impact on the environment and have, through their Environmental Policies, committed to reducing this impact.
