Get Composting
Garden waste is excellent for converting into high quality compost. If you have a home composter – please carry on using it. They are a great way to add vital nutrients into your garden.

In a home composter you can recycle:
Garden waste
Vegetable peelings
Fruit peelings
Tea bags
Coffee grounds
Egg shells
Some ripped up un-coated cardboard like loo rolls and egg cartons.
Dead flowers
Leaves
Shredded paper
Avoid larger garden branches – they would take a long time to rot (these can go in your brown bin).

If you don’t have a home composter – please remember to fill your brown wheelie bin. All the garden waste collected is recycled into compost and used again. Please don’t put food waste into this bin as we cannot accept this. See your collection information for details of what you can and can’t put in the brown wheelie bin.

Your normal rubbish wheelie bin can contain up to 25% organic rubbish. So get recycling.
