Drinking water quality

Drinking water quality is governed by specific regulations and it is the duty of thr local water amd sewerage undertaker (United Utilities) to sample and analyse mains drinking water from consumers taps. The results of this sampling are sent to the Pollution Control section and the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI), who are the central government regulatory body responsible for enforcing drinking water quality standards.
