Sustainability Appraisal Framework
The Council's Sustainability Appraisal Framework will be used to guide the individual sustainability appraisals carried out as part of the plan-making process and to set the contextual indicators to be contained in the Council's Annual Monitoring Reports.
The Framework was adopted following public consultation. Further background on the stages completed is set out below:

Sustainability Appraisal Panel
An independent panel was appointed in 2006 to oversee the Council's appraisal processes. The panel receives reports on emerging sustainability appraisals and considers the Council's proposed responses to any comments received following public consultation. The recommendations of the Panel are reported to the Council's Cabinet and Executive Board.
