Welcome To Wirral

Joint Merseyside Waste Development Plan Document

The Merseyside Joint Waste DPD is being jointly prepared by the districts of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral. Technical work is being undertaken on behalf of the districts by a specialist team located in the Merseyside Environmental Advisory Service at Maghull.

The preparation of a Merseyside Joint Waste Development Plan Document began in December 2006. Public consultation on an Issues and Options Report took place in 19 March 2007. The deadline for comments was 30 April 2007.

The Joint Waste DPD will establish up-to-date policies for the provision of waste management facilities, to replace the policies currently included in the Unitary Development Plan for Wirral. Any site-specific proposals will be shown on a Proposals Map.

The Joint Waste DPD must be submitted to the Secretary of State for independent public examination.
