Welcome To Wirral

Monitoring

In order to identify problems at an early stage the Council carries out monitoring of the coastline on a regular basis. Beach levels are measured and compared. Photographic records are made and other types of data relating to the coast recorded. This information is shared with other neighbouring local authorities in the North West and also North Wales as it is important to understand the changes on the coast, over a whole region, rather than just at Wirral.

Information is also shared with and obtained from Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory via their Coastal Observatory
