An additional charge of £266.75 (inc VAT) will be levied on each application or dwelling (in the case of multiple houses) for all notifiable electrical installations.

Fees are payable for work undertaken by the Building Control Service in relation to Building Regulation applications. Those fees are statutory and are payable as follows:

1. Should you submit Full Plans for approval you will pay a Plan Charge to cover the passing or rejection of plans deposited with the local authority, and an Inspection Charge to cover the inspection of work to which the plans relate.
2. Should you submit a Building Notice you will pay a Building Notice Charge (this amount is equal to the aggregate of the plan charge and the inspection charge) which is payable when the notice is given to the local authority.

The Council's current scheme of charges came into effect on 1st January 2006 and is available for inspection at:

The office is open between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00.

If the work is solely for the benefit of a disabled person then you may be exempt from the payment of fees.
