Welcome To Wirral

Wirral SEN Parent Partnership Service

All Authorities must make arrangements for Parent Partnership Services.

The aim of SEN Parent Partnership services is to ensure that parents of pupils with Special Educational Needs have access to information, advice and guidance so that they can make appropriate and informed decisions. The service will provide advice to the parents of all children with Special Educational Needs, not just those with Statements of SEN.

The Wirral SEN Parent Partnership Service can also put parents in touch with an Independent Parental Supporter. Independent Parental Supporters are volunteers who are independent of the Authority. They can assist parents in finding out more about their child’s needs and in making their views known. They may belong to a voluntary organisation or simply have a knowledge and experience of Special Educational Needs and the concerns that parents have. The Service can also provide access to information, mediation services and training.

In Wirral the Service is provided by the Wirral SEN Parent Partnership which is independent of the Authority.
