Wirral Governors' Forum - Role of Link Representatives

Governing Bodies of schools are responsible in all aspects of the education provided in their school. This is achieved through a series of co-ordinated partnerships with teachers, parents, Local Education Authority officers and other Governing Bodies through the link with Wirral Governors' Forum.

Hence, as Wirral Governors’ Forum is made up of Link Representatives from all Governing Bodies, it can represent their collective views in discussions with the LEA and in periodic meetings with other groups, e.g. teachers and parents.

The Link Representative will seek to:

  • be familiar with the education process in their own school;
  • obtain the consent and trust of the Governing Body in relaying, with discretion and as appropriate, the concerns of the school;
  • regularly attend Forum meetings to act as a communicator and link between the school and other Governing Bodies;
  • be equipped for the role of Governor/Wirral Governor Forum Link Governor through the training opportunities provided by the LEA.
