Welcome To Wirral

Area forums

Area Forums are the key community engagement method used by the Council at which local people have an opportunity to shape local services. There are 11 Area Forums in Wirral, so there will be one where you live

Forums are a positive and active partnership of local people and organisations working together to tackle local issues,

The area Forums established in 2001, meets three times a year, to listen to local peoples opinions. Each Forum has developed a Local Area Plan, which feeds into Wirral’s Local Area Agreement.

If you have any views about where you live, come along and give us your opinions and ideas. There are informative presentations at every meeting letting you know what the Council and our partners including representatives from the Police, Primary Care Trust, and Fire Service are doing. Each meeting has a public question time, where you can ask anything relating to the Council, our partners and your local councillors.

Each of the area forums has funding available for local voluntary and community groups.

  • The Community Initiatives Funding - a source of funding for voluntary and Community organisations which operate in Wirral for proposals that fit the specific criteria set by each of the Area Forums.
  • The Community Safety Fund - a source of funding for Community Safety Projects
  • The LA21 Fund - a source of funding for Environmental and Sustainable Projects.
