Welcome To Wirral

Commercial Refuse

Businesses across Wirral are required to store and dispose of the waste generated by their business activities responsibly.

The Environmental Protection Act requires the waste to be stored in lockable containers of a size and construction suitable for the type and quantity of waste created.

The containers should be stored within the boundaries of the premises until collection day then placed on the pavement outside the premises ready for emptying on the arranged collection day.

Businesses should have waste collection contracts in place with registered trade waste removal and disposal companies.

Under no circumstances should trade waste ever enter the domestic waste streams, those businesses being operated from a domestic dwelling should have separate waste collection and disposal arrangements for anything other than domestic waste.

There are many details of commercial waste providers in telephone directories. If you need any further help or advice on commercial waste please call Streetscene on 606 2004, email streetscene@wirral.gov.uk or click on the "Request Service" button.
