Housing Benefit - Renewal

Prior to 01/05 April 2004 all applications for Housing/Council Tax Benefit were set for a defined benefit period - either 26 or 52 weeks depending upon your circumstances.

From 06 October 2003 benefit periods for all pensioners (claimant or partner 60 or over) were abolished except for those who were still in receipt of Income Support/Job Seekers Allowance (IB).

Benefit periods for all claims were abolished from 01/05 April 2004.  Claims are now input for an indefinite period and are subject to review, based on your circumstances.
