 Support for Asylum Seekers, New Arrivals and Refugees.

National Asylum Support Service (NASS)

The Department of Adult Social Services has links with National Asylum Support Service (NASS) which addresses the provision of accommodation and basic social care support to Asylum Seekers.

The General Adults Team

The General Adults Team within the Department of Adult Social Services undertakes Community Care Act Assessments with Asylum seekers, New Arrivals and Refugees who are eligible for assessment.  Assessments are undertaken in accordance with Fair Access to Care Criteria (FACS)

The Wirral Ethnic Minorities Information and Resource File

The Wirral Ethnic Minorities Information and Resource File is available for workers in Wirral's Health and Social Care and voluntary sector organisations; it contains information relating to culture and faith and traditions of ethnic minority groups living Wirral.

• Religious festivals and beliefs

• What to do if someone witnesses or experiences racial harassment

• Procedures and protocols for treating vulnerable groups such as Refugees and Asylum Seekers.
