This summer Merseyside will be transformed by more than100 individually designed versions of the iconic sculpture for the ‘Go Superlambananas!’ festival and five of them will be based in Wirral.  The festival aims to showcase the area's heritage, architecture, regeneration and art from June 16 - August 25.

In Wirral, there will be Superlambananas in :

• Birkenhead Park, next to the Pavilion
• The Pyramids shopping centre
• Lady Lever Art Gallery
• Port Sunlight Museum
• Ness Gardens

Sponsored by Wirral Council, the Birkenhead Park ‘Flora Lambana' is decorated in with swirling patterns of flowers and is based in the garden adjacent to the Pavilion in the lower park. The design is by Rosalind Hargreaves, an artist interested in journey, duality, utopia, person and place.  The design is a thoughtful juxtaposition of the manmade and the natural.
