Via Road
Before you travel to Westminster House, please consider if you really need to use your car. Visitors may use the pay and display public car parks that are available adjacent to the buildings:
Via M53 from North Wales/ Chester/ Ellesmere Port
Leave the M53 at the Wallasey Docks exit after junction 1, and follow the signposted A5139. Follow the A5139 Dock Road for approximately 1¾ miles through the traffic lights, at the roundabout take the second exit for approximately 1 mile onto Four Bridges that continues into Tower Road. At the roundabout turn right onto Corporation Road/ Rendel Street proceeding onto Watson Street before turning left at the Conway Street junction and continuing until you turn left into Argyle Street at the roundabout. Continue along Argyle Street, turning second right into Market Street until you reach Hamilton Street and Westminster House is on the right.
Via Wallasey (Kingsway) Tunnel
After leaving the tollbooth, take slip road immediately on left of motorway signposted to Birkenhead. At roundabout turn sharp left following signs to Birkenhead, go through the traffic lights at the junction of Dock Road/ Duke Street and proceed to the Park Road North junction approximately ½ mile. Turn left and along Conway Street and continue until you turn left into Argyle Street. Take the first turning right into Hinson Street continuing until you reach Hamilton Street and Westminster House is on the right.
Via Cycle
Accompanied cycles can be carried on all trains, subject to space being available (there may be restrictions at peak times), from Liverpool, Chester and Ellesmere Port to Hamilton Square Station. On leaving the station turn right onto Hamilton Street and continue along to the other side of the pedestrianised area, cross Market Street and Westminster House is on the left approximately ¼ mile. There are staff cycle parking facilities able to accommodate up to 3 cycles within the building. There are no changing/ shower facilities. It is possible for up to 4 motorcycles to use the three large D frames for motorcycle parking outside the main entrance.
Via Rail
Trains operate from Liverpool Lime Street mainline station and other city centre stations (every 5 - 8 minutes), from Chester (every 30 minutes), from Ellesmere Port (every 30 minutes), from New Brighton (every 15 minutes), and from West Kirby (every 15 minutes) to Hamilton Square Station (providing a 5 – 8 minute service to Liverpool) on the Wirral Line. From Hamilton Square Station turn right into Hamilton Street continue for ¼ mile, Westminster House is on the left after the junction with Market Street.
Via Bus
From Birkenhead Bus Station (serviced by 63 bus routes) you can catch 7 bus services that pass and stop opposite Westminster House, these being the 408 service (New Brighton – Liverpool), the 441 service (Woodchurch – Liverpool) (consisting of 3 return journeys during the am peak only), the 187/ 188 service (Parkgate – Liverpool), the 437 service (West Kirby – Liverpool), the X8 service (Liverpool – Chester), the 471/ 473 services (Barnston – Liverpool) (am peak only), and the E1 Woodside – Birkenhead circular. Alternatively, you can walk by crossing Conway Street at the signalised junction turn right and proceed left into Argyle Street. Cross the road and take the first turning right into Hinson Street continuing until you reach Hamilton Street and Westminster House is on the left approximately ½ mile.
