Via Road
Before you travel to the Town Hall, please consider if you really need to use your car. Visitors may use the public car parks that are available adjacent to the buildings:
Via M53 from North Wales/ Chester/ Ellesmere Port
Leave the M53 at the Wallasey Docks exit after junction 1, and follow the signposted A5139. Follow the A5139 Dock Road for approximately 1¾ miles through the traffic lights, at the approach to the roundabout go through two sets of traffic lights and continue straight onto Birkenhead Road. Follow Birkenhead Road for approximately ¼ mile then turn sharp left into Church Road (Seacombe Ferry on the right). Follow Church Road round to the right into Brighton Street, the Town Hall is approximately ½ mile along on the right.
Via Wallasey (Kingsway) Tunnel
After leaving the tollbooth, take slip road immediately on left of motorway signposted to Birkenhead. At roundabout turn sharp left following signs to Birkenhead to traffic lights at Dock Road, turn left along Dock Road. Continue along Dock Road, at the approach to roundabout go through two sets of traffic lights and continue straight onto Birkenhead Road. Follow Birkenhead Road for approximately ¼ mile then turn sharp left into Church Road (Seacombe Ferry on right). Follow Church Road around to right into Brighton Street, Wallasey Town Hall is ½ mile along on right.
Via Cycle
Accompanied cycles can be carried on all trains, subject to space being available (there may be restrictions at peak times), from Liverpool, Chester and Ellesmere Port to Hamilton Square Station. On leaving the station turn left onto Hamilton Street and proceed to the Town Hall via Canning Street the second turning left approximately ¼ mile onto Tower Road, through the signalised junction onto Four Bridges then take the third exit on the roundabout onto Birkenhead Road ½ mile. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto Church Road following it round to the right into Brighton Street, the Town Hall is approximately ½ mile on the right. There are two Sheffield cycle parking stands outside of the Town Hall and each Annexe building, and there is a shower/ changing facility in the South Annexe.
Via Bus
From Birkenhead Bus Station (serviced by 63 bus routes) you can catch 5 bus services that pass the Town Hall, these being the 401 (mobility vehicles) service (New Brighton – Chester), the 103/ 203/ 403/ 413/ 423 service to (Birkenhead – Seacombe Ferry) (although this is quite a circuitous route), the 106 service (Seacombe Ferry – New Brighton), the 430 service (New Brighton - Liverpool), and the 850 service (Liscard – Deeside Industrial Park) (morning and evening peak hours only) that stop opposite the Town Hall. Use the pelican crossing over Brighton Street and the Town Hall is in front of you.
