Via Road
Before you travel to the Treasury Building, please consider if you really need to use your car. Visitors may use the pay and display public car parks that are available adjacent to the buildings:
Via M53 from North Wales/ Chester/ Ellesmere Port
Leave the M53 at the Wallasey Docks exit after junction 1, and follow the signposted A5139. Follow the A5139 Dock Road for approximately 1¾ miles through the traffic lights, at the roundabout take the second exit for approximately 1 mile onto Four Bridges that continues into Tower Road. There are two Sheffield cycle parking stands outside the main entrance and staff can store cycles in the basement (can accommodate up to 4). There are changing/ shower facilities for staff use only. proceeding until the first set of traffic lights where you turn left onto Cleveland Street and the Treasury Building is ¼ mile on the left before Hamilton Square.
Via Wallasey (Kingsway) Tunnel
After leaving the tollbooth, take slip road immediately on left of motorway signposted to Birkenhead. At roundabout turn sharp left following signs to Birkenhead, go through the traffic lights at the junction of Dock Road/ Duke Street and proceed to the Cleveland Street junction approximately ½ mile. Turn left onto Cleveland Street and the Treasury Buildings are approximately ½ mile on the left.
Via Cycle
Accompanied cycles can be carried on all trains, subject to space being available (there may be restrictions at peak times), from Liverpool, Chester and Ellesmere Port to Hamilton Square Station. On leaving the station turn right onto Hamilton Street and take the first right along Hamilton Square proceeding through the signalised junction into Cleveland Street and the Treasury Building on the right, that is less than ¼ mile. There are two Sheffield cycle parking stands outside the main entrance and staff can store cycles in the basement (can accommodate up to 4). There are changing/ shower facilities for staff use only. There are currently no motorcycle parking facilities at this site.
Via Rail
Trains operate from Liverpool Lime Street mainline station and other city centre stations (every 5 - 8 minutes), from Chester (every 30 minutes), from Ellesmere Port (every 30 minutes), from New Brighton (every 15 minutes), and from West Kirby (every 15 minutes) to Hamilton Square Station (providing a 5 – 8 minute service to Liverpool) on the Wirral Line. From Hamilton Square Station turn right into Hamilton Street and then right into Hamilton Square, the Treasury Building is 200 metres on the right after the traffic lights at the Cleveland Street/ Argyle Road junction.
Via Bus
From Birkenhead Bus Station (serviced by 63 bus routes) you can catch over 30 bus services that pass and stop at bus stops prior to the Treasury Building at the junction of Argyle Street/ Hamilton Square, e.g. the 51, 410, and the E1 SMART Eco-bus. Alternatively you can walk by crossing Conway Street at the signalised junction turn right and proceed left into Argyle Street and the Treasury Building is ¼ mile on the left at the junction with Cleveland Street.
