Via Road
There is no visitor car parking available within the staff car park. There is however a BCP car park opposite the Cheshire Lines Building which can be accessed from Bridge Street.
Via Queensway Tunnel from Liverpool
After exiting the tunnel before reaching the tollbooths turn sharp left. Exit the tollbooth onto A41 Chester Street. Follow this route for approximately 0.5 miles. At the Bridge Street gyratory take the first left onto Canning Street, the Cheshire Lines Building is on the right hand side.
Via A41 from Chester
From Chester follow the A41for approximately 13 miles. After passing the Rock Retail Park on left-hand site you are at the outskirts of Birkenhead. Follow the brown tourist signs for Hamilton Square and Woodside taking the road under the fly over and emerge onto A41 Chester Street. (As above)
Via Cycle
Accompanied cycles can be carried on all trains, subject to space being available (there may be restrictions at peak times), from Liverpool, Chester and Ellesmere Port to Hamilton Square Station. There are 2 Sheffield stands for visitors available at the main reception.
Via Rail
Hamilton Square rail station is approximately 120 yards from the Cheshire Lines Building. Trains to Hamilton Square operate from Liverpool Lime Street mainline station and other Liverpool city centre stations every 5 - 8 minutes, from New Brighton every 15 minutes, from West Kirby every 15 minutes, from Chester every 30 minutes, and from Ellesmere Port every 30 minutes. Turn left out of Hamilton Square Station and left into Canning Street. The Cheshire Lines Building is on the right.
Via Bus
Bus stops outside the building on Canning Street are served by the 409 New Brighton Woodside Circular, the stop on the opposite side of Canning Street is also served by the 495 Upton Train Station to Woodside bus service.
Woodside Bus Station is approximately 200 yards, and Birkenhead Bus Station is approximately 940 yards walk from the Cheshire Lines Building. There are a number of bus services which run between Woodside and Birkenhead Bus Stations including the complimentary E1 Woodside circular running every 7 minutes. The most frequent bus services stopping at Woodside Bus Station include the 413 Seacombe Ferry to Liverpool Sir Thomas Street and 410 Clatterbridge Hospital to New Brighton which run 4 times per hour and the half-hourly 401 Chester to New Brighton, and 403 Seacombe Ferry to Woodside services.
Via Ferry
Woodside Ferry Terminal is approximately 300 yards walk from the Cheshire Lines Building. The first direct morning service arrives at Woodside at 7:55 and the last at 9:25 with Ferries every half-hour in between. In the evening the first ferry departs from Woodside at 16:35, there are departures every half-hour until 19:05.
