Via Road

Before you travel to the Wirral Education Centre, please consider if you really need to use your car. Visitors may use the car park that is available adjacent to the buildings:

From Birkenhead

Take the A41 (New Chester Road) and continue for 5 miles to the traffic lights at the junction with Allport Road. Turn right into Allport Road and continue for 0.2 miles to the traffic lights at the junction with Allport Lane. Turn right into Allport Lane (signposted Bromborough) and proceed for 0.3 miles to the left turn into Acre Lane. Turn into Acre Lane and the Centre is on the left within 0.2 miles.

From the M53 Motorway

Exit at junction 5 and take the A41 (signposted Eastham, Bromborough and Birkenhead) and continue for 1.6 miles (passing through the multiple traffic lights at Eastham) to the traffic lights at the Allport Road junction. Turn left into Allport Road and then proceed as above.

From Chester

Take the A41 (signposted to Birkenhead) and continue until the road passes under junction 5 of the M53. Continue on the A41 as detailed above (From the M53 Motorway).

From North Wales

Take the A550 out of Queensferry following the signs for Birkenhead. Continue until the road merges with the A41, join the A41 (signposted Birkenhead) and proceed until the road passes under junction 5 of the M53. Continue on the A41 as detailed above (From the M53 Motorway).

Via Cycle

Accompanied cycles can be carried on all trains, subject to space being available (there may be restrictions at peak times), from Liverpool, Chester and Ellesmere Port to Bromborough Rake/ Bromborough Stations. On leaving the stations proceed to the Centre as in a) above. There is a lockable cycle store that can accommodate 4 cycles and there are changing/ shower facilities for staff use only. There are currently no motorcycle parking facilities at this site.

Via Rail

Trains operate from Liverpool Lime Street mainline station and other city centre stations, including Hamilton Square Station (where 15 minute services from New Brighton and West Kirby connect) (every 15 minutes), from Chester (every 30 minutes) and from Ellesmere Port (every 30 minutes), to Bromborough Rake Station and Bromborough Station on the Wirral Line. From Bromborough Rake Station, turn left into The Rake and proceed for ¼ mile until you reach Ashfield Road. Turn right into Ashfield Road, and continue for ½ mile until Acre Lane, turn left into Acre Lane and the Centre is on the right within ¼ mile. From Bromborough Station, turn left into Allport Lane and proceed for ¼ mile until you reach Dawpool Drive. Turn left into Dawpool Drive, continue for ½ mile until Acre Lane, the turn right into Acre Lane and the Centre is on the right within ¼ mile.

Via Bus

From Birkenhead Bus Station (serviced by 63 bus routes) you can catch 2 bus services the 418 (mobility service) (Birkenhead – Mill Park) and the 240 service (Saughill Massie – Mill Park) that pass and stop opposite the site to Mill Park.
